THE WORLD IS DEVOURING ITSELF
Asunder has begun to consume itself. Gaia, the being who keeps the planet alive, wants her freedom, and her power increases when she feasts on the Essence of humans. She has commanded the fungi to infect the dead, causing them to rise and storm through villages. She has purged the shards of Chaos buried in the earth to prepare for escape. Some worship her as a god; some run from her in fear.

There is a moment when an ordinary Asunderian becomes a Seeker. It's different for all. It may be witnessing Pure Light reign down from the heavens or watching Gaia's minions consume the Essence of fallen soldiers on the battlefield. But after they've seen "it," they can no longer pretend the world is safe. It's at this moment when they become a Seeker and stop at nothing to find answers.

Seekers do not have classes but instead develop paths along their journey that are woven into the narrative. A young seeker may start as a member of The Bone Army but then leave their ranks due to corruption.
The Bone Army is the greatest mercenary force in the Mainland, almost a nation unto themsleves.
Then, they may find themselves united with a secret society known as the Wooden Legion, who craft mech-like suits from living plants. They believe they have the answers to why the world is dying and cannot be bought with money. Their mission is pure, or so they say. The Seeker takes on this new Path and acquires a new set of unique abilities.

Other Seekers become addicted to demon blood, or learn how to harvest the memories of Asunder, or work in the shadows for the elite of Sky City. With the many paths and combinations available, no player's experience is the same.
